According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), an estimated 2 million people in the US will be diagnosed with cancer in 2026. As we continue to see the effects of rising rates, we are committed to providing care and relief to those touched by the disease.

Cancer patients often encounter challenges when it comes to addressing skin care concerns, as this area is sometimes overlooked in traditional oncology care.

• Communication Barriers: Many patients feel hesitant to bring up issues like rashes, scarring, and sensitivity with their doctors.
• Toxic Ingredients in Conventional Skincare: Most mainstream skincare products contain harsh chemicals that can aggravate already-compromised skin.
• Lack of Awareness on Safe Products: Patients may not know that oncology-safe alternatives are available, potentially compromising their skin health with inappropriate products.
• Risk of Non-Specialized Treatments at General Spas: Without proper oncology training, general spa professionals may inadvertently use treatments or products that irritate or damage sensitive skin, or cause greater issues such as lymphedema.

Our oncology facial is designed to restore and maintain healthy, glowing skin as well as bestow a lasting feeling of well being.

This advanced certification training program is designed for licensed spa professionals and requires recertification and testing every 2 years.

Oncology-trained estheticians, stylists, and nail technicians are licensed, experienced professionals who have dedicated time and effort to additional training. They are equipped with the knowledge and skills to safely and compassionately assist clients with cancer, including those undergoing cancer treatments.

• Contraindications related to spa and salon treatments (including Lymphedema, DVT risk, and allergic reactions)
• How to safely help the skin, hair and nails heal
• The importance of listening and compassion
• Safe, proper and affordable ingredient/product choices
• How to help the client with eyelash, eyebrow and hair loss
• Hands-on training with survivors in various scenarios to prepare therapists to customize safe treatments for each individual
• When to refer the client to their medical team

We partner with your medical team to provide your services. Depending on your current stage of treatment and with your physician’s approval, we can help boost your immune system and let you simply ‘let it go’ for 60 minutes

RADIATION TREATMENT: With physician approval, we can help to prepare your skin in anticipation of radiation as well as during the process with an organic oil that research supports and is recognized by the cancer community to help maintain your skin health. Your skin health is our concern!

CHEMOTHERAPY: Anti-cancer therapies can affect all of the skin with overall dryness, localized rashes and other side effects. Our skin services and the organic/natural products we carry at the salon will help lessen these side effects to help you feel your best.

TOPICAL CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT: This is an anti-cancer therapy cream or lotion that is applied directly to skin cancer or sometimes on a condition that potentially could develop into skin cancer. With physician approval, we can assist you in hydrating and preparing your skin prior to this treatment.

SKIN CARE PRODUCTS AND MAKEUP: We will share specialized knowledge about quality skin products and ingredients that are free from harmful chemicals, toxins and fragrance. Your skin challenges will be met with products from skin care lines whose roots are in oncology cosmeceuticals and support the special skin changes, needs and compromised immune systems.
